January 2, 2020

I am observing that I check the number of likes I receive on my blog posts first thing in the morning. It feels good to see like-minded people reading and liking what I write. I guess, now I understand the impact of applause for an artist. 🙂

I am not an influencer on social media like most. Ninety-nine percent of the time, I am merely observing what others are posting on their social media profiles. If something grabs my attention or the person is dear to me, I will press the thumbs up icon. I am thinking about changing this and create a social media strategy to grow professionally — Will research more on this.

Today, I finally finished planning the January 2020 marketing activities for the service assigned to me. Yesterday, I read a blog post by a fellow marketer on personas. The point he made was that brands need to rethink how they create personas. He gave an excellent example of a persona that had characteristics of millennials, Gen X, and more.

The truth is, change is not limited to creating personas. The entire field of marketing is evolving. Software solutions are used by business owners to gain insights and make informed decisions. For inside sales, we have data mining techniques. If I have to say a word regarding the future of marketing two years down the line, I will say that relevancy, context, and target audience are the only three things that matter.

But, no matter what, for platforms such as Quora and Facebook to stay relevant, they have to implement strict guidelines. After every few days, I can observe an irrelevant response to questions shared on Quora. Of course, the marketer (leaving an irrelevant answer) on Quora is bringing irrelevant traffic and is also affecting the branding of his company or employer.

I finally went to the fitness club. It was tiring as hell. Luckily, the trainer guided us throughout the entire workout. The only thing I regret is not doing the exercises along with my wife. I want her to be my training buddy, and why not? Men and women can train together. Later, we had a session on dieting. For now, there is only one change in my diet – the addition of protein and subtraction of carbs from dinner.
